Hello, my name is Leanne and I am the Joint Deputy Manager at Burpham preschool alongside Zoe. I am also Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead - DDSL I began working at the preschool in September 2011 as a Preschool Assistant and was proud to be promoted to Deputy Manager in 2022. Over the years, I have enjoyed supporting children through their early years development and working closely with families and colleagues to create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, travelling around the UK in our touring caravan, and going on beach walks.

Hi, I’m Zoë I co share the deputy manager role at Burpham preschool.  I am also the Designated Safeguarding Lead

I have worked with children for over 20 years.  My roles have varied from working in state, private and special education schools.  I have an Early Years Qualification, am a trained paediatric first aider and hold a Designated Safe Guarding Lead qualification.

I have been fascinated in discovering how children’s minds work and what motivates them to learn and develop. I have completed courses in speech and language and multiple SEND training courses.

I have always felt privileged to be entrusted with the care and development of the most important being in a person’s world – and enjoy the variety of everyday being different.

My name is Joan and I live locally in Merrow with my husband and our two dogs. I enjoy spending time outdoors and particularly love long walks with my family. I have three grown-up children and four wonderful grandchildren, and I really value the time we spend together. Being part of Burpham preschool is incredibly rewarding, as I enjoy supporting children as they grow in confidence, develop their personalities, and learn through play.

I believe every child should feel valued, cared for, and comfortable, and I enjoy working as part of a dedicated team to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment.

Rev James Hanson

I'm the Vicar of Burpham Church. I love working alongside young people and their families, having spent 20 years working in schools (most recently as a Head Teacher), and volunteering in Sunday schools and youth clubs for 25 years. Alongside being a trustee for the Preschool, I'm a trustee-director for the Good Shepherd Trust (a multi-academy trust of 25 schools around Guildford), and a member of the Guildford Diocese Board for Education, so I get to exercise my strategic brain in many educational settings.

David - Treasurer of Preschool Trustees

I've been involved with Burpham Church for 35 years, including a period as Church Treasurer. I've been a Preschool Trustee and Treasurer since 2020. I have two adult children who both attended the playgroup which preceded the current preschool - no Ofsted then! I am motivated to help provide a friendly welcoming facility for local parents to bring their children and make it easier for them to start school later.

I live in Burpham with my husband and two preschool children. I work in the medical devices industry, specialising in Operational Excellence.

When I'm not working or looking after the children you’ll find me at the gym or trying to improve at my latest hobby of open water swimming!

I have a keen interest in supporting Burpham preschool, not only because my children attend, but because I came to this preschool back in the 80's .. the exact date left deliberately vague so you can’t work out my age!
